Greetings from the Editor:

Start with Balance

Imagine your best day ever. You wake up before the alarm goes off and just lie there quietly, remembering all the good things you can do to boost your attitude and insure you will get the most out the day. You begin with gratitude for this life and the opportunity to learn and grow and play another day. Then you set an intention for the day – to stay calm and peaceful no matter what unexpected comes your way, or to communicate with kindness and compassion, or to make eye contact and smile at 20 people during the day, or to take good care of yourself today. As you lie there, you review the day ahead noting where some of the challenges might be and how you can best prepare yourself. People you know who are in pain and who have challenging situations come to mind now and you send them prayers and healing thoughts. To all others, as well as yourself, you send blessings for Divine Grace. Now you pop out of bed ready for a brand new day and prepared to meet challenges and enjoy the highpoints of the day.

What happens when we are hurried and stressed about our day and do not take the time to be grateful, set intentions, and think of others? Right, the opposite of balance. May we all remember to take the time each morning to prepare ourselves to live our day with ease and balance.

Fortunate Blessings,

Suzanne

An Essay About Grandpa Moon

By Madison Mondshine

As time never stops pushing forward, my grandpa’s mind somehow defies this law by taking steps backward.  It has continued with this irreversible act for years now. I remember my parents telling me that Moon (the nickname given to my grandpa) could no longer drive. He had gone to get a haircut a few blocks away from his house and ended up lost for hours. A simple task he has performed for years gone astray. This is when signs of dementia began creeping into Moons life. He started by labeling everything from light switches to keys. Once a pediatrician with a memory that never skipped a beat, Moon was now a man labeling objects within his own home. Eight years ago not only did Alzheimer’s attach itself to Moon, but to my family...

The Vision Within Creates The Reality Without

By Jacqueline M. Shuler

Our inner vision defines our daily lives.  What we think about becomes our reality.   Become aware of the thoughts you create; note those which occur often during the day. By monitoring your thoughts, you realize what drives you, what blocks you.  Is your thought pattern usually positive, or negative?  Do you often have thoughts and feelings of love, anger, or fear? You have complete control over your brain...
