Adventure

I see my life as an adventure as I explore uncharted territory, taking positive risks. Today, I choose an area to explore that is outside my comfort zone. I see my life as an adventure with continuous, exciting, new things to explore.

By Vicky Bowker Jeter.

Call Me Victoria is the joyous result of poems, stories, and articles artfully woven together to tell the authors's life story. Greetings from the Editor:

How Much Freewill Choice Do You Have?

“If you do not change, you may end up where you are headed.”     ... Lao-tzu

Recently, during meditation, I felt pain and sorrow for people who have limited free will choice and unable to live their lives with continual growth of their will and human spirit. At first I saw oppressed people over there – you know, other countries with fundamental indoctrination both politically and spiritually. Next, I felt pain and sorrow for less obvious individuals locked into their point of view in this country politically and spiritually. I then viewed myself and felt pain and sorrow for immature judgments I have made towards others in my past, when I was not using my gift of critical thinking. I saw that simply repeating patterns of thinking of those around us, or on TV, etc. robs us of free will choice.

We are very fortunate in this country to be exposed to opposite points of view, whether it is a casual discussion with friends about how to get a two-year-old to stay in bed at night, or watching or reading a political commentary. Instead of being bothered by others who think differently than we do, consider it an opportunity to come to our own conclusions. Take the time to use your free will choice, practice continual observation of conflicting points of view and use your critical thinking skills to grow your world bigger. Wouldn’t it be powerful to really accept another’s point of view rather than making ourselves feel comfortable by wanting to convince and convert them to our viewpoint? Fortunately, we have this opportunity through awareness.

Fortunate Blessings,

Suzanne

Creativity Adds to Your Health and Well-Being

By Suzanne E. Harrill

After the fun and richness of the holiday season some people have health as a theme for the New Year.  A helpful method to boost your health and well-being is using some of the wisdom of the ancient Chinese practice of Feng Shui.

One of my dear friends is a Feng Shui master. I relearned an important concept from the ancient Chinese teaching, that when looking at one area of your life that you want to improve, it is helpful to look at and develop the area that is the polar opposite on the Bagua. What is the Bagua and how does creativity add to your health?

Learn How to Goal Set for the New Year

By Gary Daly

Some people don’t know where to start to goal set for the New Year. Why? Some may be feeling low or overwhelmed about the year ahead. Perhaps they didn't have a great year in 2012 and are predicting the same results for the year ahead. I've been there and have learned these feelings don’t last forever. They eventually went away for me as I put into practice ideas from some of my teachers and will share a little of what I learned. Here is one way to change the situation quickly – effective goal setting. You can be successful in 2013 even if you can’t think of a single goal to write down at the moment...

Spiritual

Threshold of a New World View

By Natalie Amsden

We find ourselves at a unique point in history: at the precipice of human transformation. In this world of rapid change and mass confusion, many of us feel a deep longing for something more—for connection, love, joy, peace and meaning. We are all awakening, each in our own way and in our own time. As our world changes around us, our world-view is changing.

It is no mystery that we share a collective belief system, a world-view, and that it has been transmitted to us from those who came before. By understanding the reality of our ancestors, we understand how we have come to live within the mental constructs of our collective belief systems. We will take you on a journey that starts in the Middle Ages and ends where Western thought stands today. Once we view our current state in the perspective of the greater story, we will see how it all leads up to this moment...

A New Year Of Acceptance

by John Price

Of life, love, peace, and joy. There's no one to blame if we miss out on the light-filled path of all that is good, true and beautiful. We were created to live a life of continuous celebration, and 2013 is the year to spread the cheer, applaud the wonders, and salute ourselves as members of the Divine Royal Family. The power of choice is one of our precious Gifts, so join me this year in choosing only days filled with divine order, love, forgiveness, playfulness, abundance and every other good thing we can think of. Remember that when we are in tune with our own Authority, we know that Spirit is totally responsible for our life.  Nothing is more important than realizing the Presence of God within...
